In our backyard with a few of our fur babies: Mercy, Willy, Elysha, Bella & Gracie

I have been in love with the Spaniel for nearly 40 years. When I first laid my eyes on the Cavalier King Charles, I was DONE FOR. Seriously?!! These are the REAL LIFE BEENIE-BOO Stuffed Animals. When I first saw them it reminded me of being a Freshmen in College with my large stuffed dog that I would hug when I needed to de-stress quietly in my bunk.

In 2013 we began our journey with breeding these lovely fur babies under the name Kalama Cavaliers Kennels. You can find us on:

To have the privilege of living side-by-side with one or more of these sweeties is truly a gift. Compassionate and enduring, ever so trusting, I’ve made it my life’s goal to breed the very healthiest Cavaliers in the world. Join me in my quest. I will share with you my findings in such topics as: What to do with those Glands, Parasites and Fleas, Keeping that Coat Shiny, How much Exercise is enough, Surviving Rat Poison, Traveling by boat, car and plane, What kind of food should I feed my furry companion, Grooming, The Older Years and so much more.  Are there any topics you are interested in? Let me know!

  1. This looks great! Congratulations on launching your blog. Can’t wait to read more.

    • Thanks for cheering me on, Debbie! I hope this helps you and your furry family members!

  2. This blog is an excellent idea! Thank you! Am wanting to keep up with any info sources about holistic veterinary viewpoints such as regarding heart worms; prevention, testing, treatments, etc. Actually any discussion about keeping my dog healthy!

    • Thank you, Olivia! Great topic. This is definitely a personal passion of mine, getting in front of the underlying health issues. As someone who has lost nearly all of her maternal ancestors before their mid-50’s due mostly to food-related illnesses (diabetes, colon cancer, etc.), I want “food to be our medicine”. I will work on making a blog post that will break this down and make it understandable. Thanks again!!
